It's been quite the year, but all around the state, lights festivals both old and new are shining brighter than ever for the holiday season. And this year, many of them have transitioned to driving experiences to ensure you can enjoy them safely. If you do go to any walking experiences, be sure to check safety guidelines before you go, wear a face covering and socially distance from those around you.

Chicago & Beyond

Illumination at Morton Arboretum, Lisle

Designed with your safety in mind, this year’s all-new driving experience (30–40 minutes long) features an unparalleled spectacle of color, light, and music you won’t experience anywhere else.

Six Flags Holiday in the Park, Gurnee

The third season of Holiday In The Park returns as a re-imagined experience featuring over 2.5 million dazzling lights plus entertainment. And, for the first time ever, the theme park will offer a drive-thru version of its holiday celebration as Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience. Featuring over three million dazzling lights, festive holiday theming, and classic, seasonal tunes, this innovative and one-of-a-kind event will operate select days in December 2020 and January 2021.

Lincoln Park ZooLights, Lincoln Park

ZooLights will feature hundreds of luminous displays and incredible seasonal activities, all under the glow of millions of illuminated lights, plus reduced capacity admission to keep your family safe.

Let it Shine Drive Thru, Northbrook

Let It Shine is a brand new drive-thru light show adjacent to Northbrook Court Shopping Center. Guests will be immersed into a symphony of sight and sound in a wonderland of displays. 

Brookfield ZooLights, Brookfield

Now in their 39th year, get ready to visit Chicagoland’s largest and longest-running lights festival featuring over a million twinkling LED lights!

Drive-Through Holiday Lights, Aurora Area

From Phillips Park Festival of Lights to Mooseheart Holiday Lights Display, enjoy miles of dazzling light displays from the warmth and comfort of your car.

Central Illinois

East Peoria Festival of Lights, Peoria

Marking 36 years of holiday cheer, the festival begins with the Parade of Lights and continues through the month of December with the Folepi’s Winter Wonderland drive-through display.

Candlestick Lane, Urbana

For over half a century, the Urbana neighborhood comes together and celebrates family, friends and their city. Lamplighters go from house to house on opening ceremony to start Candlestick Lane.

Downs Dooley Park, Bloomington-Normal

Enjoy a dazzling lights display in Downs Dooley Park from December 1 to January 10.

Effingham Wonderland of Lights, Effingham

Wonderland in Lights, a drive-through light display, features a variety of lighted holiday scenes including a reindeer flight school, Santa coming down the chimney, a Nativity scene and so much more.

Mattoon Lightworks, Mattoon

Celebrate the holidays at Peterson Park with a dazzling display of holiday lights to welcome the season. Drive through or walk to get a picture up close.

Chatham Light Up the Park, Chatham

Christmas Wonderland Drive Thru, Alton

Begin your holiday celebration when you experience the enchantment of Christmas at the "Christmas Wonderland" holiday light display. Visitors can drive through the park to view more than 4 million lights decorating the park!

Downtown Country Christmas Bright Nights, Jerseyville

Explore the windows of Downtown Country Christmas Bright Nights and see the lights shining bright for family fun from the comfort of your car.

Christmas Village Walking Path, Bethalto

Celebrate Christmas with a stroll through the Arboretum in Bethalto, with lighted trees, glass cottages, wire art, nativity, and much more.

WonderLight's Christmas, Madison

Enjoy the synchronized LED spectacle at the World Wide Technology Raceway, featuring two miles of over 1 million LEDs synchronized to over 50 minutes of music.
